Dear Members, Donors and Friends,
A glorious month has begun here at Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. “And all the world is glad with May” as John Burroughs said.
This whole bunch of Purple Chinese Houses was seen in the lagoon, see photo.
On Razor Point several Cooper’s Rein Orchids are in bloom.
See you on the trails,
-Your Torrey Pines Conservancy
Peregrine Falcons
This female Peregrine Falcon was seen flying into the eyrie with food. The prey seen in this photo might be a Black Necked Stilt based on the color and the length of the legs.

In Memory of David Zimmermann
Torrey Pines Conservancy is saddened by the passing of David Zimmerman. David served on the Torrey Pines Association board as treasurer for several three-year terms during an important time in the early 2000s. His love of the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve and brilliance in highly technical fields were important to its conservation and exemplified a life lived in balance with nature. Something the Reserve is known to do for many of us! Our condolences to the Zimmerman family.
Wine in the Pines is back!
This fall we are bringing back one of our favorite events: Wine in the Pines.
On Saturday, October 15, we’ll be offering delicious wine and beer and authentic Italian food outdoors behind the historic Lodge up at Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. Join us, sip a glass of wine beneath the pines, listen to live music, enjoy art and meet new friends and old. Tickets for this event will go on sale shortly.
