Join the BioBlitz!

September 7, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

From Saturday 9/2 to Sunday 9/10, California Parks statewide will host special events and engaging activities for Biodiversity Week! See who can record the most biological diversity—the highest number of species of plants and animals—in their park. Humboldt Redwoods State Park currently holds the record of 380 species identified in 2022. Let’s show them what we have at Torrey!!

What is a BioBlitz?

An event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time. You will use your smart phone and the INaturalist app to take pictures of as many species of plants, insects, and animals that you can find.
